November 2005 saw the opening of Jersey Boys at the August Wilson Theatre on Broadway, New York. The show, which documents the lives of the 1960s band The Four Seasons. The show received rave reviews; sell out performances and four Tony Awards which generated even more attention for the musical. The musical was also awarded with a Grammy Award for the Best Show Album. All this interest generated a buzz within the UK and the show subsequently opened in the Prince Edward Theatre in London’s West End in February 2009.
The show is set to run until April 2009 at the Prince Edward Theatre, however, dates are rumoured to be up for extension as the demand for tickets has not subsided. If more dates are included then booking ahead would be advisable to secure cheap Jersey Boys tickets.
The hit musical documents the lives of Frankie Valli, Tommy De Vito, Bob Gaudio and Nick Massi as they fame and number of hit records spiral beyond belief. The musical includes a variety of their hits including some that have become internationally known and loved such as Bye Bye Baby, Big Girls Don’t Cry and Working My Way Back To You which makes the musical a fun experience for all and well worth seeing.
